A Kindle Hack Into A Fridge Messageboard – Lifehacker Australia

If you’ve got an otherwise unused Kindle and a Raspberry Pi, it’s actually quite simple to turn it into an easy fridge messageboard.

This Particular hack uses a custom email address that you ‘send whatever messages you want to Appear on the Kindle, a bit of server side code running on a Raspberry Pi That checks an inbox via IMAP is DETERMINE if there are new messages before pinging them onto the Kindle itself, Which only really needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network and have its screensaver disabled.
