They contain suspended in a transparent liquid white and black particles charged with opposite electric charges. The particles subjected to the influence of electromagnetic fields move up or down. Thanks capsule changes from white to black and formed the electronic equivalent of a drop of ink. The E Ink screen image is changed only when displaying a new item and does not turn off when you turn off the current. These types of displays do not bombard our brain or eyes like an ordinary TFT screens, which usually operate at 60 Hz.

More and more readers allows you to control the device using the touch screens. Cheap models mostly have simple touch positioning system using infrared LEDs (light beam intersection coordinates inform touch). Better quality of readers like. Voyage Kindle or PocketBook Ultra are equipped with screens with capacitive touch system.

In practice, the effect of touch screens installed even in the most expensive reader is not so precise and quick as tablets or smartphones. When you browse the books a little longer “loading” subsequent pages do not mind, but navigating through menus, options using the touch screen is sometimes frustrating. This is due to the way digital paper work that needs as many as 450 ms (E Ink Pearl) to refresh the image. Also processors readers do not belong to the fastest and by the reaction of touch reader system is quite slow. Therefore, a good solution is to readers equipped with at least basic buttons to navigate through the pages of the book.

Amazon Kindle Voyage and other readers in the tests – the Kindle and the rest

We were hoping according to the latest trends, Amazon will offer at least one reader with a slightly larger diagonal, but the manufacturer has been at the current size and most advanced Voyage and less expensive Kindle Touch (unfortunately we could not get it to tests) are equipped with a 6 inch screens. Amazon I worked for it over the resolution and quality of digital paper and once again it proved its reader in this respect the best. Kindle Voyage has as many as 300 dots per inch, smooth, legible font and great quality digital ink and paper. He received 10/10 points in the assessment of image quality.

However, competition is not sleeping and PocketBook, Onyx Kobo are on offer readers which in many respects can compete with Amazon products, or are they successful alternative .

All readers except the Amazon models have built-in memory card readers and let you browse books stored in different formats, without having to convert. Most of the readers is equipped with a 6 – inch screens, but almost every company has in its offer at least one model with a larger screen. One of the best models with a slightly larger screen is Kobo Aura H2O , which has a 6.8-inch E Ink display HD Carta (1430 x 1080 pixels).

The Kobo Aura H2O like Aqua PocketBook stand out also waterproof housings, also resistant to dust. You can use them in the bath, on the beach, without fear that after dipping stop working. This functionality is not so far none of the reader Kindle.

Kindle Voyage – PC World

->

At first glance, it is difficult to grasp the difference between a Kindle Paperwhite II Voyage. But you only have to look to see that on the Kindle Voyage fonts are smooth and do not have a “jagged” edges.

Kindle Voyage is one of the few readers, which is equipped with auto-backlight power. There’s nothing new, because this type of tablet sensors are standard equipment, but it ebookach novelty, which makes reading books is more convenient. In the settings, the reader can also manually adjust the strength of the backlight or disable it completely.
Kindle Voyage through 6 inch screen is small and handy. The housing is rigid and even in the stronger position against anything in it creaks and does not bend. Back reader is lined with non-slip material. On both sides of the screen are mounted buttons used for turning the cards. Unfortunately, they are illuminated at night it is difficult to locate them making them easy to accidentally press. In the settings you can turn off the reader and only use the touch screen. Button to start the machine is located at the rear of the enclosure is large and easy to use.

The Voyage does not have a memory card reader or the headphone jack. On the bottom edge of the cover is only a small USB port (the same as in smartphones), which is used for data transfer and charging. Included with the reader, a USB cable, unfortunately there is no cover or external power supply.

The precise positioning of touch is a reader works quite quickly, although far from being in this respect to the tablet. When you start showing the classic Kindle interface that is simple and is easy to operate. Unfortunately it is not available in the Polish language. Working with Kindle Voyage gives you the option of collecting books in Amazon’s cloud. Of course there is also the option to save the books in the memory card reader (available approximately 3.5 GB and 4 GB flash drive).

Kindle Voyage is available in a cheaper version of the network adapter Wi-Fi and more expensive with 3G modem. It also has a built-in web browser, but although it works better than the other readers of this and so does not provide a comfortable surfing the Internet.

Voyage Amazon Kindle Review: A great e-reader made even better – Daily News & Analysis

The Kindle Voyage is the spiritual successor to the Kindle Paperwhite, and it absolutely does not disappoint.

Smartphone, tablet, e-book reader; That you’d imagine the average user would prefer convergence and carry fewer devices on a business trip or a holiday. A slew of high-end e-book readers launched in the recent past suggest otherwise. Amazon’s new Kindle Voyage is the latest device to target the ‘compulsive’ reader with a premium e-book reader, building from the where they left off with the Paperwhite. Does the Kindle Voyage justify a price point at Which you can snag a 7-inch capable tablet?

While we loved the build quality of the Kindle Paperwhite, the Voyage raises the bar; yet again. It’s ultra-slim (just 7.1mm) and is lighter than quite a few phablets (just 180g). The device stands out with its clean lines and elegantly sculpted back. A power button sits at the back of the device while a micro-USB port is located at the base. The Kindle has opted for a flush glass front with chemically Strengthened glass in a bid to reduce scratches on the surface. You will also notice a set of pressure-sensitive page-turn buttons flank both ends That of the bezel. These buttons generate haptic feedback depending on the where you place your fingers. This is one of the standout features in the Voyage, Especially if you dig physical buttons for every page turn.

The glare-free display is one of the other big improvements. Kindle’s e-ink displays have offered great visibility even under direct sunlight, one of the Reasons Why they are perfect for the pool deck at your favorite beach getaway. The 6-inch E-ink Carta HD touchscreen display stays in That zone despite it being a brighter screen. With 300 pixels per inch (PPI), it is a considerable jump over the Paperwhite (212 PPI) but the killer feature is how the front light adapts to the ambient light conditions, Ensuring you will not go to bed with a piercing light from your Kindle. The screen is very responsive too; you do not really need the PagePress feature a flip through pages.
There are no major improvements on the hardware spec sheet. The device is powered by a 1GHz single-core processor with 512MB of RAM; that’s enough fire-power for this device. There’s 4GB of onboard memory, enough to store all the books you can possibly read in a lifetime. The battery life does not match the Paperwhite – that could be due to the more powerful screen on this device and yet a single charge could last you for weeks together. Quite a contrast from the daily routine of charging your smartphone or tablet. The Voyage comes in both Wi-Fi Only and Wi-Fi plus 3G options. Just like other Amazon Kindles Effectively the 3G is free and, unlike the US, users in India do not encounter any promotional ads.

The Voyage is packed with all the features we have come to love on the Kindle and instant access is Amazon’s bottomless book store. One of our favorite features is Smart look up dictionary definitions the where are full integrated with other reference information, via the ‘X-ray’ function, and Wikipedia. There’s also Whispersync the where the last page read is saved and synchronized across devices – just in case you are flitting from one device to the other. Kindle devices also allow you quickly share a book or sections Recommendations from your e-book on Facebook and Twitter, just in case you want to Appear more ‘evolved’ on your social networks!

The Kindle Voyage makes a compelling case for a dedicated e-book reader at a time When quite a few users are catching up on Their reading on tablets and even 5-inch smartphone displays. You will never have to worry about that ‘unputdownable’ book being interrupted by an e-mail from your boss. The improved display elevates the user experience while Kindle’s intuitive features and book store are a given. It’s also one of the best designed e-book readers ever, light enough to curl up on the couch for long periods of time with your favorite book. Kindle’s cool origami cover is a clever accessory allows you That to prop up your Kindle on a stand. It’s not bundled with the Voyage and comes at a stiff price tag (Rs 2,999 onwards). The Voyage might not justify an upgrade (given its steep price tag) for Paperwhite owners but if you’re an avid reader looking for the best possible e-book reader experience look no further.

Voyage Amazon Kindle Review – Times of India

NEW DELHI: E-readers are niche devices and Amazon’s Kindle Voyage is probably as niche as it gets even in this category. Priced at Rs 16.499 for the Wi-Fi variant and Rs 21.499 for the 3G + Wi-Fi version, this e-reader is more expensive than many decent tablets in the market (for context, iPad mini 2 costs Rs 21.999).

So, what does the new Kindle has Voyage That makes it dry an expensive e-reader, Especially since the Kindle Paperwhite can be Purchased for Rs 10.999. Even more important: does this e-reader with a dry deserve a high price tag? We find out in our Amazon Kindle Review Voyage …
design The most striking
thing about Kindle Voyage is its design. Gone is the chunky and boxy design of the Kindle Paperwhite, Replaced by an edgy and angular look on the back and an overall smaller profile. The new Kindle is the thinnest Voyage and Lightest Amazon e-reader at 7.6mm and 188gram (3G + Wi-Fi model), respectively.

The front panel has the 6-inch E-Ink Carta screen, with thick bezels on all sides. On the left and right side of the screen are the new PagePress buttons, Which we will discuss in the Software segment. The Kindle logo is below the screen, while the top is bare.

Though the Kindle Voyage is the most portable e-reader you can find in India today, its thick bezels on the top and bottom of the screen make it bigger than it needs to be.

The back is made of magnesium and has two types of finishes: while the rear casing is dominated by soft rubbery finish you have seen in the Nexus 5 and 7, the top portion is made of glossy plastic. The back panel is a fingerprint magnet, and you would be hard pressed to clean the smudges too. On the back panel, the Amazon branding is in the center, flanked by the Power button on the left.
Display

The 6-inch display of the Kindle has Voyage 300ppi pixel density, Twice That of the Kindle Paperwhite. This Means you get much sharper text and images. We compared the two e-readers’ screens and found That there is a noticeable clarity how the text Between Appears on the display panel. Also, there is no fuzziness that you ‘usually we associate with an E-ink display.

We also opened a graphic novel on the Kindle Voyage and found it to be the best in terms of showing details, something you can It actually miss previous generations of Kindles.

Amazon says it has used glass reinforced That is the ensure the screen remains devoid of scratches. We tried to scratch the keys with keys, fortunately, it’s no avail.

The new Kindle also reduces glare Voyage, Claims Amazon, as the glass is chemically etched micro. However, we found the level of That glare in the new e-reader is not much lower compared a Kindle Paperwhite’s.

The display of the Kindle Voyage also has ambient light sensor adjusts automatically box Which of the lighting. However, if you want, you can change brightness levels manually with the on-screen button.

One major problem associated with E-ink displays is the slow response time to touch input, something That is still not fixed Voyage on the Kindle even though it is faster than previous models.
Software

Amazon Kindle Voyage’s biggest new feature is PagePress, a set of buttons on the sides of the screen . PagePress lets you turn the pages on the e-reader by just pressing the button requisite; hit the vertical lines is flip the page, push the dot to go back.

This feature has been demanded to Kindle buyers for long, and works pretty well. Though we found ourselves turning the pages via the touchscreen in the initial few hours of using the Kindle Voyage, Eventually we did get used to the PagePress buttons.

Another new feature is Page Flow; from the middle of the screen, you need a swipe from the bottom to top, which lets you move Between chapters. The X-Ray feature, Which A provides details of important characters and places in the books you read, is present on the Kindle Voyage.

The Amazon Kindle has also Voyage Goodreads, Facebook and Twitter integration

Reading on the screen is great in the few hours we used the device, as the images and text Appear extremely crisp and you will not miss any details. However, the automatic brightness adjustment works well, but not fast enough.
What we think
Kindle Voyage is a fantastic e-reader, a device That makes the extremely high price tag worth it. It is definitely the first e-reader that offer aesthetic appeal and great reading experience in a package so small, Which actually makes a difference Especially for someone who spends long hours reading e-books.

Amazon Kindle vs Voyage Kindle Paperwhite

Kindle Voyage (3G model) costs twice as much as the Paperwhite, something any buyer would consider before putting in her / his money. In our view, the Kindle Voyage is for purists who do not worry about the price and care for the best possible experience, while Paperwhite is for Those Who are still Mindful of the associated price and are willing to sacrifice a little on the experience When buying an e-reader.
