Hisense undercuts the Kindle Fire and Nexus 7 with $ 99 Android tablet - TabTimes

Chinese vendor Hisense TV is taking the battle to Amazon and Google in the low-end Android tablet market. The company’s latest Sero 7 tablets are now available online through Wal-Mart, with one of these selling for as little as $ 99

Tech news website Liliputing and blogger VelcoElectro That confirmed the $ 99 Sero 7 and $ 149 Sero Pro are now being sold at Wal-Mart stores, with the latter boasting similar specs to Google’s Nexus 7

The Sero 7 Pro offers a 7-inch 1280 x 800 resolution IPS display, a 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a dual-facing cameras (5MP on the rear with flash, 2MP on the front).

For those who want to spend even less, the $ 99 Sero Hisense 7 Lite features the same screen size (albeit with a 1024 x 600 resolution) but comes with an older version of Android, and less powerful processor and half the storage .

The tablet has a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. It also has connections for microSD and a mini HDMI port.
