This past weekend I read information about Amazon’s new idea that could revolutionize the book market. The company Jeff Bezos wants to settle the writers of the number of family members collected by the devices and applications Kindle e-books, and the number of pages read by them. This solution is really a lot of sense.
The Amazon is by far the hegemony of e-books market. The company not only makes probably the best currently available readers to consume fiction that does not cost assets, but also has designed an application for smartphones and tablets through which you can consume books with the largest English-language digital bookstore in the world.

In addition to the purchase of e-books “on property” – which in the case of Amazon means assigning an eBook to your account and the possibility of its later download to a device or application, because the company uses DRM solutions – Amazon offers digital books within eg. subscriptions plans.
Users – unfortunately, not Polish – can take advantage of services such Unlimited Kindle and Kindle Owners Lending Library. In this framework, you can download the selected ebooks from Amazon’s offer on your device without having to pay a fee for it. Artists are now rewarded with this title.
From July will change the way these settlements.
So far, the authors of books loaned by Amazon’s customers were paid royalties for every download by another user – regardless of whether he actually read the book. Amazon found that this model is not fair, and instead will count how many pages read the users.
Amazon at the same time will ensure that creators could not cheat the system. The number of page views will be calculated in a standardized way – probably depending on the number of letters in conjunction with a number of illustrations – to the use of larger letters or wider margins was not fair in relation to the authors using a different typography.
Does it change the way writing books?
Positions Amazon can not be underestimated, and this change in the settlements could change somewhat the creative process of authors who will optimize their positions in profits. It is not difficult to imagine that for some time the market will go a lot of books equipped with additional illustrations.
Some commentators even predict that this system may be the killing of the authors of non-fiction books – guides, albums, etc. – which in principle does not read from cover to cover, and only checks in one piece of information that happens to be needed.
Same novel may suddenly be written soon anyway right away with this in mind that at all costs keep the reader’s interest. While this will result in a better writer’s workshop, I am too – until it starts to use cheap tricks and unnecessary cliffhangerów just to earn a few cents more for royalties.
