Myleene Klass has called a mum ‘bonkers’ after she sent out an email suggesting Should parents donate £ 10 each to buy a Kindle and a desk for two girls’ birthdays.
The radio presenter was so Outraged by the request That she highlighted the e-mail – and her own sarcastic reply – on her Instagram account, calling for an “end to this madness ‘and to be grateful for’ what you’re given.”
Mum-of-two Myleene shared and group email she received from a mother of a girl who goes to a private school with her seven-year-old daughter Ava.
Sent by one parent on behalf of two other mothers, it requests donations from £ 10 each classmate to go towards buying a Kindle e-reader for one pet and a desk for another.
Myleene, who is also mum is a three-year-old Hero, posted a picture of the message (after changing all names), Which Stated: “Jane and Hannah would prefer a class birthday gift for Their daughters this year.
” Sarah would like the Kindle and Lola a desk (very studious choices !!) so if you would like to join in, please can I collect a suggested £ 10 from you before the party on Feb 9th. “
The request suggests, donations can be put in envelopes in the children’s schoolbags, before adding:” Thanx and no obligation of course. “
A second email from another parent offers to collect the cash, stating That £ 10 would be a ‘popular amount’ to Contribute – That the meaning of the total value gifts would be at least £ 200 – but adds: “Feel free to give what you like or indeed, to give your own gift. “
Myleene, 36, was so affronted she sent a sarcastic reply poking fun at the brazen messages.
The former I’m A Celebrity star’s message read: “Dear all, for Ava’s birthday, she has requested a real, live unicorn.
” I will be collecting money unicorn via her book bag, in the playground or at www.getwhatyouregivenandendthismadness.com.
“(Additionally I’d like a Ferrari and Leonardo DiCaprio, so by all means, to feel obligated that Contribute is this too).”
She added: “If you don ‘t wish it, please do not feel any pressure from the countless emails I intend to follow this up with and clog your inbox. Love and thanks !! “
