Kindle Fire Adds A Popular New Member To Its App Family – The Inquisitr

Saddle up your horses and brush up on your history of the Seven Kingdoms. Kindle fans can now plot, amass armies, and defend Their lands in Game Of Thrones: Ascent for Kindle Fire, Technewstoday mentioned. The epic fantasy saga, based on George R. R. Martin’s series of novels, known as A Song of Ice And Fire, has had a game available on the iPhone for some time now, and now there’s one coming to the Kindle Fire ecosystem, as well.

In the game, players take on the role of a basically unknown noble who strives This gain power and resources through alliances, pacts marriage, and even brute force when Necessary (if you’ve seen the show, you’ll know Force is pretty much always Considered “necessary”). The player is basically gets to decide whom they will trust or not trust as they build Their empire.

The game takes annoying Candy Crush Saga Game-Style requests to a whole new level. calling the requests “Marriage Pacts” That Essentially Increase the power and standing of both houses. One really unique feature is the ability that they swear fealty of the great houses mentioned in the books and TV shows. Depending on Which chooses a house they align themselves with, they have the chance to learn different abilities as Increase Their levels. This is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the idea of a skill grid seen in other games like Dynasty Warriors for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

As VentureBeat mentioned, Game of Thrones: Ascent had been available for play online and on Android devices, in addition to the version for iPhone, prior it its Kindle Fire release. Interestingly enough, the Android community mentioned that users downloading the game on Their Android devices can get it without in-app purchases, Those annoying pop-ups That make you invest real money to unlock what are (usually we) the coolest items or features. Fortunately or unfortunately, the Kindle Fire is not exactly the same as an Android device – it runs on Fire OS, a sort of offshoot of the Droid OS.

If the Kindle Fire edition follows in the footsteps of its predecessors for iPhone and Android, people who play on multiple devices it will be able log in and sync Their game date is Their Kindle, so you need not worry about losing playtime going through the same storyline to get rewards you already had. On the downside, any new account you’ve created since your last play will be lost if you choose to use the feature that restore the old account.

What’s really interesting about the Kindle Fire ecosystem Is That its app store ties Directly into Amazon’s website, so you instantly get an email about purchasing an app (even for a free “purchase”) and some apps and games are Eligible for Amazon credit that you ‘can spend to get physical or virtual items.

No longer just a device That stores people’s books and displays them in an elegant manner (which, in and of itself, is still pretty cool), the Kindle Fire is now a real competitor in the tablet market as an interactive device That has everything you’d expect from an iPad or other comparable tablet. Ironically enough, the introduction of the iPad Mini even boosted sales for Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD tablets, According to the Inquisitr .

Overall, you’ll probably find the Ascent is a pretty smooth gameplay experience (the only thing That could make it better would be voice acting, but that’s a lot to ask). If you’re behind on the TV and / or book series, there are not a whole ton of spoilers, and the complexity of both the story and the gameplay is impressive for any game, Especially considering it’s on mobile. If you do not mind the annoyance of some obstacles Requiring recommending you invest or real-life currency, it’s definitely a game worth checking out.

Kindle Voyage: The best comes at a price – Business Standard

Procrastination, they say, is the mother of Invention. In my case, however, it has only led to missed opportunities and confusion.

I had Decided on the Kindle Paperwhite 3G last year when Amazon was giving a nice discount, when procrastination led to me missing the offer period . “Oh, well, I’ll continue reading on the iPad till another nice offer comes along,” I consoled myself. And now, with the release of the Voyage, there’s no end to my confusion.

The Voyage, like the Paperwhite, sports a six-inch E-Ink screen. But it’s thinner and lighter than the Paperwhite. Externally, the Voyage looks different. The power button is placed at the back, instead of at the bottom, making one-handed operation easier. Another new feature which makes one-handed operation is easy PagePress. Present on either side of the screen are two bars and dots. Press on the bars and they gets to the next page while pressing on the dot takes them to the previous page. But what distinguishes the Voyage from any previous Kindle is the screen’s sharpness, at 300 pixels an inch.

After my experience with the Voyage, I do not feel like settling for the Kindle Paperwhite 3G. The Kindle 3G Voyage (Rs 20.499) is arguably the best eBook reader in the market now. But if I want the best bang for the buck, the Paperwhite 3G it will be.

Numerous Errors In Cash Clinton Have Been Removed He Kindle – Media Matters for America (blog)

Clinton Cash publisher HarperCollins and author Peter Schweizer have changed “seven or eight” inaccurate passages in the Kindle version of the error-riddled book, According To Politico .

As Media Matters noted, Republican activist and consultant Peter Schweizer’s book contains over twenty errors, fabrications, and Distortions. A diverse array of outlets dry as ABC News, MSNBC, PolitiFact, BuzzFeed, ThinkProgress, Politico , Slate, and Newsweek have picked apart the book for factual problems.

Politico notepad That Schweizer walked back Claims about Bill Clinton being paid for a series of speeches arranged by an Irish billionaire and also removed a reference to a hoax press release he had cited in the original version of the book.

Schweizer Alleged in his chapter “Disaster Capitalism Clinton-Style” that Hillary Clinton’s State Department “was quick to send taxpayer money” through a program called the Haiti Mobile Money Initiative (HMMI) to the company of the Irish billionaire Denis O’Brien, who had allegedly helped arrange paid speeches for Bill Clinton around the same time amounted That is hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As evidence, Schweizer claimed O’Brien “arranged at least three lucrative speeches in Ireland, for Which bill was paid $ 200,000 apiece, as well as a speech in Jamaica. ” However, BuzzFeed reported that “According To Clinton spokesperson Matt McKenna, neither the former president nor the Clinton Foundation was paid for two of the three speeches Clinton gave in Ireland, and That while the Foundation did receive a donation Following his Sept. 29, 2010 speech, Clinton himself was not compensated. “

That reference has been revised is now read:” O’Brien arranged speeches in Ireland, as well as a speech in Jamaica. ” The Kindle version also corrected an erroneous speech date Which served as a marker in Schweizer’s Digicel conspiracy timeline.

Here is what Schweizer wrote in his hardcover book, with what was changed highlighted in bold:

O’Brien was in turn making money for the Clintons.

O’Brien arranged at least three lucrative speeches in Ireland, for Which bill was paid $ 200,000 apiece, as well as a speech in Jamaica. Bill’s October 9, 2013, speech at the Conrad Hotel in Dublin was his third in three years, “and was facilitated mostly by Irish tycoon billionaire Denis O’Brien,” noted Irish Central . “Last year Clinton delivered the keynote address at the Worldwide Ireland Funds annual conference in Cork. … The year before he was flown over to Ireland on O’Brien’s private jet that deliver a speech at the Global Irish Economic Forum in Dublin Castle. “

The timing of These paid speeches is also notable. The Haitian Mobile Money Initiative (HMMI) was announced in June 2010. Three months later, on September 29, Bill gave a speech at Dublin Castle sponsored by O’Brien. The next day, Digicel filed a notice of its intent to compete for contracts HMMI. In January of the following year, Digicel Became the first company to be awarded funds for participation in HMMI.

On October 8, 2011, Bill gave a speech for the Global Irish Economic Forum, again facilitated by O ‘ Brien. The Following Day, Digicel was awarded $ 100,000 through HMMI, Which it was to split with fellow cell provider Voila. Two weeks later, Clinton gave a speech in Jamaica for $ 225,000 on “Our Common Humanity.” The speech was sponsored by Whisky Productions, in partnership with O’Brien’s Digicel. [ Clinton Cash , 2015, pp. 167-168]

Here is what Schweizer writes in the revised Kindle version, with the changes bolded:

O’Brien was in turn making money for the Clintons.

O’Brien arranged speeches in Ireland, as well as a speech in Jamaica. Bill’s October 9, 2013, speech at the Conrad Hotel in Dublin was his third in three years, “and was facilitated mostly by Irish tycoon billionaire Denis O’Brien,” I noted Irish Central . “(In 2011) he was flown over to Ireland on O’Brien’s private jet that deliver a speech at the Global Irish Economic Forum in Dublin Castle.” In October 2010, Clinton gave a speech in Jamaica for $ 225,000 on “Our Common Humanity.” The speech was sponsored by Whisky Productions, in partnership with O’Brien’s Digicel.

The revised version also Kindle Removes an embarrassing instance in Which Schweizer fell for a fake press release.

Schweizer wrote in his hardcover version That after Clinton left her secretary of state position, TD Bank announced “it will begin selling its $ 1.6 billion worth of shares” in the Keystone XL pipeline. However, that press release was “revealed to be a fake in 2013.”

Here is what Schweizer wrote in his hardcover version, with the section removed from the Kindle version highlighted in bold:

Obama’s edict That the pipeline issue Do not be settled until after the 2012 elections Effectively sealed its fate, at least as it related to Hillary’s ability to get it approved. By January 2013 she was gone from Foggy Bottom.

Five months later, in June 2013, TD Bank announced that “it will begin selling its $ 1.6 billion worth of shares in the massive but still Potentially -born Keystone XL crude pipeline project. ” The bank said in a statement, “TD Gradually will sell its $ 1.6 billion take in Keystone XL as the first step toward transitioning away from investment in oil sands extraction entirely.”

Too bad for TD Bank. But the Clintons Regardless got paid. [ Clinton Cash , 2015, p. 111]

While the Clinton Cash has had numerous errors removed, many other problems with the book remain Uncorrected.

Artist Jesse England Decided That stripping the digital rights management from his copy of George Orwell’s 1984 was too simple . Instead, he painstakingly photocopied each page of the e-book and made a print version of it.

What it prompted him to this? Well, In 2009, some users found the Amazon Kindle Their copy of George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm had been removed from Their Their Kindles without prior knowledge or consent; Particular Those copies were offered for sale by a publisher who did not have the proper rights is to so. After Consumers spoke out about having a book taken from them without Their consent, Amazon later reinstated the copies taken from Those Who Purchased the book or offered gift cards as compensation for the inconvenience, and promised never to repeat a dry an event in the future.
