Readers Kindle with a large update. Amazon introduces a new screen – Antyweb

Kindle Previewer 3 Lets You Experience Enhanced Typesetting – Good E-Reader (blog)

Amazon has just released the Kindle Previewer 3. it allows authors and publishers to get a sense on how Their e-books will look on Kindles and Fire tablets using the new typesetting engine.

Last year Amazon released a new font called Bookerly, Which Replaced Caecilia as the new default font for the Kindle Fire line of tablets and Their fleet of apps. Like Google’s Literata, Bookerly is meant to address many of the aesthetic issues surrounding e-book fonts. A few months after Bookerly was released Amazon sought to address the Kindle’s typesetting problems with an all-new layout engine That Introduces better text justification, kerning, drop caps and image positioning.

When publishers and indie authors submit e -books to Amazon it was a total mystery how Their titles would look using the new fonts and layout engine. This mystery should be dispelled with the advent of Kindle Previewer 3, a free tool for PC and MAC.

Amazon Kindle Fire TV and updated with new features – Neowin

Amazon has finally Begun to deliver Their long awaited updates to TV and Kindle Fire.

The update for the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick include two notable features. One of them Is That there is now a “Your Videos” section of the main menu. This consolidates the menu a bit and makes it more comprehensive.

The other feature is Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant that was made popular with the Echo. The feature is already available in the second generation models of the devices.

Amazon’s Kindle will become the presenting sponsor of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The Seattle tech giant’s electronic reading business will help organize the so-called “Bee Week,” launch new spelling-related initiatives before the contest, and Provide the technology for study materials developed by Spelling Bee.
